June 3, 2022: Save the date!

I believe I’ve mentioned before that writing a novel is much easier than marketing a novel. Short of hiring a literary agent, which would be my last resort, I’ve been muddling along with some personal outreach, a few print interviews, some social media presence, a book talk or two, and a book signing. I’ve also done some promotions and entered a first-time authors’ writing contest. I do owe a lot to my editor, who has been most helpful in getting my novel out there in the public eye. She has even arranged an entry into Austin, Texas’ annual book fair.

I have another book signing event coming up on Friday, June 3, 2022, at Downtown Book & Sound in Salinas. It will coincide with one of their monthly First Friday Art Walks. I did a signing there back in January, but not too many people came. It was a cold and grey day, plus the Raiders were in a playoff game during the same time as my talk. The best part was when Trish, the owner, ordered up some calamari from the restaurant next door, and we cracked open a bottle of Pinot Grigio.

I’m hoping this time I’ll get to talk to more people and perhaps sell a few books! Thanks, Trish, for letting me have another go at it. I’m looking forward to it.
