Buzz Anderson

Fascinated since childhood by stories of the people who lived in and settled along the coastal regions of central California, Buzz Anderson often hiked the old-growth redwood loop near Felton. When he retired, he set out to write a story about them. Dedicating three years to writing, he produced Five Hundred Moons.

Buzz Anderson grew up in the Monterey Bay area, where he and his wife, Jennie, still reside, surrounded by family and lifelong friends. He recently released his second book, A Jar of Water – New and Selected Poems.

Buzz is available for book signings and readings and enjoys hearing from readers.

“Anderson’s depth of research, paired with a natural proclivity for vivid detail, yield a work of historical fiction that’s hard to put down.”

Something happens when water meets land…

“The quality of Anderson’s writing cannot be overstated…”

When I saw the first printed and bound copy of Five Hundred Moons, I was overjoyed. Four-plus years of writing, researching, and editing had finally come to fruition. Little did I realize my adventures in book writing were just beginning.

This experience brings to mind questions that writers often ponder: why do I write, and who (or what) do I write for?

I believe words speak of our commonality. We are way more alike than different, despite the the many voices intoning otherwise. And it is through storytelling that humans communicate at our most instinctive level.

What readers are saying about Five Hundred Moons

Truly a beautifully written book…

“I like poetry that is unblurred….”

I treasure the economy of words, the blending of sounds flowing like a musical phrase.

I hope the words sprinkled on these pages are meaningful to you, the reader, and the experiences I share increase your connection with your deepest thoughts and our beautiful world.
